Face-to-face domestic and professional visits to South Australian prisons are paused during the statewide lockdown.

A 7-day lockdown starting 6pm Tuesday 20 July 2021 has been announced.

During this lockdown, domestic visits will continue to be facilitated via Virtual (Zoom) where possible.

Face-to-face professional visits were paused from 12.01am Tuesday 20 July 2021. Audio-visual link or telephone appointments should be arranged where practical.

The decision to suspend face-to-face prison visits was not made lightly but has been implemented as a measure in light of recent positive community cases within SA.

The health, safety and security of our staff, prisoners, visitors, and the community remain our top priority.

We understand the importance of family and community connections to the wellbeing, rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners. We also understand for families and friends the importance of staying connected to prisoners.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and provide updates when available.

Who does this apply to?
