After your visit
You may have to pass through the x-ray and metal detector machines as you leave the prison.
You may be searched as you leave the prison if there is a reason to be suspicious about your visit.
Concerns about a prisoner
If you are worried or concerned about a prisoner please let us know as soon as possible.
This includes:
- as you leave prison
- when you are on the way home
- the next day, or later.
We take the health of prisoners seriously and want to know about concerns regarding:
- self-harm
- suicidal thoughts
- anxiety problems
- medication or ill health requirements
- drug or alcohol issues.
We can make sure a social worker, Case Management Coordinator [or other support as required] is informed and able to visit and talk with the prisoner.
There are several support groups that can also help you and give advice about your situation.
