Employee Assistance Programme [EAP]

The Department for Correctional Services (DCS) provides a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to benefit the psychological wellbeing of its staff. The program includes general and specialised counselling.

Work health and safety

We have a dedicated team ensuring that all our work areas are safe and that we are following best work practices.

There is also a team promoting 'Healthy Working Bodies' that support exercise, eating healthy and mental health.

Flu vaccines are offered to staff each year

Non-smoking policy

DCS has a non-smoking policy in the workplace which applies to all staff and facilities.

The Adelaide Remand Centre is smoke free. The other prisons have smoking areas for the prisoners.
