The newly refurbished Port Adelaide Community Correctional Centre (PACCC) was officially opened on 14 September 2021 by Minister for Correctional Services Vincent Tarzia and Chief Executive David Brown.

The upgraded facilities remain in the Customs House location on Commercial Road but the site has had a major facelift to improve safety and service delivery to clients.

The upgrade improved the layout of the building, with clients led through a secure hallway from the waiting room to brand-new interview rooms. The redevelopment also includes a purpose-built programs room, a secure interview room and additional security cameras throughout the building.

On any day, Community Corrections supervise more than 6000 offenders in the community across a range of orders.

All 27 PACCC staff remained on site and the office operated at full capacity throughout the 18-month construction period. They are to be commended for maintaining service delivery during the construction period.

The Department worked with Hosking Interior Design, Bruce Interiors & Constructions and the Department for Infrastructure and Technology for the refurbishment.
