All domestic visits to South Australian prisons remain suspended until further notice.

The decision to reintroduce domestic visits has been deferred to enable us to continue to monitor the risk of COVID-19 in the South Australian community.

The department will be reviewing the decision on Friday 11 December 2020 with a further update to follow.

Video visits will continue to be available for domestic visitors to ensure prisoners can maintain face-to-face contact with their loved ones. Find out more about video visits.

DCS acknowledges the impact that the ongoing uncertainty around the COVID-19 situation has on our prisoners and their loved ones. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work hard in keeping COVID-19 out of our prisons.

Who does this apply to?
