Olive oil produced by the men at Cadell Training Centre has won recognition for the first time at the Royal Adelaide Show.
2021 has been a great olive harvest season at CTC Industries with excellent yields across their three main varieties Corregiola, Frantoio and Leccino.
After receiving positive feedback and carrying out the required testing, the CTC Extra Virgin Olive Oil was entered into the Royal Adelaide Show Olive Awards for the first time.
The exceptional product won a bronze award for the Class 1 Provenance category against 47 other entries.
The judges’ comments include: “Aromas of lemon blossom, sweet honey and citrus. Good flavour transfer with ripe lemon notes. Clean mouthfeel with delicate pepper and bitterness. Medium short finish.”
The accolade was announced at a presentation dinner at Adelaide Wine Centre on 1 September.
CTC Industries Manager Kevin Stephens and the Olive Specialist during harvest Marcus Wills attended the presentation to receive the award on behalf of the Department for Correctional Services.
“The presentation gave us great exposure and was an excellent opportunity to network with other Olive Industry professionals,” CTC General Manager Michael Dent said.
