The high security Adelaide Remand
Centre. Situated in the Adelaide CBD, the remand centre is capable of accommodating 247 males who have been charged with offences and their case is before the courts. The remand centre was a former school which was partly demolished to build the accommodation units. Part of the school remains for administration. All people who are held in the remand centre are given a high security rating. Some, who are expected to have lengthy remand periods, may be transferred to high security units of Yatala Labour Prison. |
